St. Patrick's Day in Nashville

March 14, 2004

Church Street Parade of the Irish

Despite a gray sky and drizzles, Irish Green was not dampened on Church Street Sunday afternoon, March 14, 2004. Parade participants included Irish dancers, a fire engine bearing Nashville Mayor Bill Purcell, and a gaggle of children dressed happily in tones of emerald.

Nashville police provide a color guard (left) and lead the drum and pipe corps.

Segways keep up with the action.

A bow after the rain.

Green with yellow wheels: a lovely combination for an antique motor vehicle.

Irish Setters and Irish Wolfhounds graced the parade, along with a large contigency from Nashville Pride.
